So, last week I debuted my Plus Size Fashion Guide. If you haven’t downloaded it for FREE yet, download it here. (Shameless plug). For me, The Plus Size Fashion Guide was a labor of love. It was one of my first quarter goals and the main purpose of the guide was to give a practical solution to a practical problem. There are tons of plus size women that I know that say, you dress really well. What’s your secret? How do you do it?

The key is not only what you wear, but how you wear it. Not only do a lot of Plus Size Women not know what shape they are, (Even utilizing this guide, I thought I was one shape and I turned out to be between two shapes.) Knowing your shape will help you find ways to best accentuate your shape. So for instance, if you are an oval shape, one of the best ways to accentuate that shape is to create a waistline by wearing a wrap dress or a swing dress cinched with a belt that highlights the smaller part of your waist to bring shape.

If you are one of those Plus Size Women that likes to wear whatever you want regardless of what shape you are, then kudos! I am so proud of you, but this guide probably wouldn’t be for you. But, for me personally, I like to wear things that highlight my best assets. Some days I switch it up and wear things that I don’t think are the most flattering, but freeing. It allows me to break barriers internally that I think are good for me. In that, I realized that I feel better about myself when I wear things that make me feel good.

There are some days when I am in the pits emotionally, so I will wear a tutu to work to lift my spirits and it definitely helps. I am a big proponent of self-care which includes wearing whatever makes you feel good! Whether it is flattering or not. But with this Plus Size Fashion Guide, I did want to break barriers and help women who were clueless as to what body shape they had and what type of outfits looked best on them. I wanted to provide a practical solution and resource for Plus Size Women.

In the near future, I would like to provide more practical resources and solutions for issues plus size women have.

What are some issues you see in the plus size community? Whether that is measuring yourself to figure out your bra size or finding budget friendly plus size clothing, let me know in the comments below so that I can help be a resource for you.
